Artist Statement

I make sculptural body-objects to ornament the movement of the human body. Objects that create awareness of everyday subtle gestures intrigue me. For example the stem of a wine glass makes people hold it is a specific way while exposing the neckline as one moves his or her head backward to drink from the wine glass. Those ephemeral moments grab my eye and make me want to highlight the sequence. By transforming specific objects into wearable sculpture, my work generates new creative moments through their physical presence on the body.
