Artist Statement

I dream of an idealistic city, in which space and time of my past and present and fantasy and reality are unified. I express the concept of an idealistic city by combining visual elements that recall traditional East Asian Art, such as iconic animal forms and botanical patterns, both beloved as symbols of life and fortune. I mix them with architectural forms, which imply contemporary urban spaces. I am particularly interested in using symbolism of geometric compositions, to explore the psychology and the dichotomy between two worlds.
