Artist Statement

Landscape has been a dominant influence in my art for some time now. Not only because of its striking beauty, but our relationship with it.

I have developed a language of biomorphic characters, which often play out personal narratives, bring me to familiar places, and stamp my own identity on the space. The invented landscapes provide a staging ground for personal narratives while other times acting as an emblematic landscape. The characters are abstracted and void of identity
to give them equal importance to the landscape they inhabit.
