Artist Statement

While I often use symbols and metaphors that represent futility and oppression, it is through the exaggeration of the abject and pathos that I find humor in the absurdities of existence, and therefore come to accept them. Humor, for me, is one the most important tools of survival.

I allow objects to evolve and operate through a logic of their own, which sometimes leads to problems that remain unsolvable and even frustrating. Rather than having a punch-line resolution in each piece, I am interested in exploring the spaces between abstraction and reality, ambiguity and distinct understanding.
