Artist Statement

The beauty, decay, order, and chaos of every day life leads me to collect objects: broken glass, flowers, dried avocado skins, shells and bark with holes, metals, asphalt, discarded 'junk' and use these objects as diaphanes for cyanotype photography or for sculptures of 'collections of the day' or outcomes of science 'projects of the day'.
I like capturing the depth of simple repeated forms by contact printing in bright light and capturing the passage of time with long exposures that 'chart' the movement of the sun; sometimes hanging objects from strings to get the best angle, or rearranging during exposure.
