Artist Statement

I infuse the geometric forms in my small-scale oil paintings with a psychological charge; they evoke puzzle pieces; Chinese finger traps worn out from overuse; space travel. I keep my pallete bright, partly to counteract the intensity of my interlocking (and rather enigmatic) forms, but also because a broad spectum of color implies bent light, and with it the sorts of prismatic scientific experiments that lay bare our optical apparatus. I want my viewers to have an awareness of perception perceiving itself, to achieve a state of Mind that is once at rest and fully alert.
