Artist Statement
I have included images from two of the Projects that I have created at the Brooklyn Navy Yard. The Brooklyn Navy Yard Motorcycle / Bike Racks were inspired by the track that used to run thru the yard. This project can be seen in front of Building 25 by the Sands Street gate. The Brooklyn Navy Yard Park is located across from what will be the new Green Manufacturing Building. The Park also utilizes repurposed materials and connects the past history of the Yard to the present.
In my studio you will have the opportunity to view my sculptures.
The Guestbook
andrew.gustafson.167 says: Michelle Greene's art is one of the highlights of the Brooklyn Navy Yard, as her park and bike racks re-purpose the remains of the Site's industrial and maritime past. As a metalworker in the Yard, she is carrying on a tradition stretching back to the iconic Rosie the Riveter.
sassifrass says: Talk about a hard working woman! And she's beautifying our public spaces. I really enjoyed meeting her.
