Artist Statement
Interdisciplinary in nature, my work incorporates elements of performance, drawing, photography, and kinetic/ sound based sculpture. "Attunement" (Image 1) is a sound sculpture/ musical instrument that allows the performer to play every possible tone from a single resonating wine glass. "This Magic Moment" (Image 3) is a kinetic drawing with a 1 RPM motor inside the frame that rotates the image, serving as a form of temporal abstraction. Utilizing the interventions of commonplace objects, I seek to provoke active engagement of the viewer to explore the creative associations and potentials of the world around them.
