Artist Statement
Image 1 & 2 : oil paint on plaster on wood.
The plaster surface is engraved with networks of scored lines, and then painted.
Image 3 & 4 : recycled wood in metal frame.
Positive/Negative.
Image 4 & 5 : Recycled wood.
Crisscross lines cut with a circular saw on wooden boards.
I work with a variety of materials. These can range from my earlier works on plaster, to working with recycled wood, dried banana leaves, dried corn husks, black lava sand and others. I am interested in the surfaces or the skin of the work, to help reveal our emotions and realities.
The Guestbook
289ana says: beautiful and highly original work. especially love the use of salvaged materials and the color interplay - and of course, the resulting uniqueness of each piece.
cjordandesign says: Lambrechts' work is an exquisite combination of color, texture, and line that quietly draws the viewer into its visual space. There is a consistent and subtle harmony in his paintings and prints that I find mesmerizing.
RyanMigge says: Breathtakingly beautiful!
MaryM says: Large body of work--from tough constructions using found wood and steel to finely textured, earth toned paintings using leaves and materials from nature.
Print

tchauvaud says: Amazing sense of texture, color and scale. Abstraction that is not only stunning looking but always surprising and thought provoking.
