Artist Statement

I make pinhole cameras and place them in nature. The cameras capture images without the intervention of a trained eye. I then print the images using a process traditionally used to make blueprints of architectural plans. Blueprints impart critical information to viewers visually. They relay how an object is transformed from idea to reality. They also make the unseeable knowable by doubling as maps. And they are reproducible. I borrow these pragmatic functions of blueprints to get at the underlying mechanics of human drive. I ultimately hope to capture glimpses of the primordial psyche upon which human experience is built.
