Artist Statement

My inspiration for imagery is the Enso, circle in Japanese; it is the Zen Buddhist symbol embodying infinity and perfection. I am attracted to the Enso's mystical aspect as well as its paradox of imperfection and use the circle reinterpreted in both positive and negative space.
