Artist Statement

More commonly known for his paintings of the figure, still life’s, and self portraits, Josh Alexander has recently taken a new direction with his work in pursuit of finding truth through imagery. “I don't set out to produce art about one subject or another. I'm never without a sketchbook so I am constantly drawing. Sometimes the drawings are left in the book and other times they develop into more in-depth ideas. A few months ago, I found myself drawing visual representations of emotions. This led to an exploration of art in a deeper and more personal level,” says Alexander.
