Artist Statement

In 2011, I began The Hungry Grlz Project, a series of paintings, photographs, videos and performances exploring sexuality in relationship to food and eating. Inspired to look at the table as a set for performance and orgiastic rites, I began making paintings based on these themes from environments and scenarios I created in my studio.
Currently, I'm working on large-scale paintings, on both paper and canvas, based on a Bacchanalian Dining Experiment I staged and videotaped in my studio and at Flux Factory. The largest of these paintings measures 9'x9' and is constructed by nine separate stretcher frames bolted together.
