Artist Statement
As an artist, cardiac surgical nurse, and veteran of Desert Shield/Storm, my work is a reflection of my unique life. I work with nontraditional art materials such as discarded medical supplies, dontaed x-ray images, and found objects; each influenced by elements of invention and chance. I explore extremes such as mortality and beauty, control and chaos, order and turmoil. I seek to communicate that what we see on the outside is only a hint of our simple complexity on the inside.
The Guestbook
magsdougs says: Word.
strikingviking76 says: Greta had the most compelling art we saw. She makes powerful statements using objects she sees everyday in her work. Some of the themes and works I saw there are still resonating with me. She is my top, top pick to be chosen for the show.
