Artist Statement

My work in large-scale drawing, video, sculpture, and photography is unified through concept-driven art-making. Highlighting both the processes and formal properties of these various media, I explore the correspondences between life and art through a discipline of repetitive practice and endurance. My flattened imagery is at once abstract and content-laden; self-mocking and deadly earnest. Sexpot, the self-portrait dolls, the large black flower drawing, and the quilt made from beer cans (still in progress), will be shown in September’s GO.
