Artist Statement

Currently, my work is moving in two directions.

One is studied compositions on prepared (gessoed) Styrofoam that has been resourced. These works generally are small, intimate and work with ordinary objects in juxtaposition to create narratives. Recently I have begun to explore more non-objective and sculptural possibilities.


The other direction is larger painting / woodcut hybrids where I utilize the original print source (wood) and the reversal (print) that it creates together to form one image that is brought together by their pairing and the painting process.
