Artist Statement

My work is inspired by the research and methods of collecting that enable scientists to describe the natural environment. At its core, my process involves investigating ideas from the natural sciences and transforming them into an artistic dialogue. From photographing fruit flies in flight to collecting historical images of a man-made island, my intention is to create a menagerie of visual projects that capture the essence of an investigative curiosity for the natural world.
