Artist Statement

These prints are a result of the act of skinning eels. I filmed myself attempting to skin six fresh water eels. I hammered a nail through each head to a cutting board which had a pice of white paper attached. I then slit the neck beneath the gills and peeled back the skin. Once finished, I removed the carcus from the paper/board and covered the wet portions of the paper with crushed charcoal. After removing the excess charcoal, these six prints remained. This is a very recent work the adjoining video piece is in progress.
