Artist Statement

Portraits, portraits, portraits, in pastel or oil paint. There's no end to my fascination with the resonance of portraiture and its capacity to compel yet reflect. I honed my ability to register a likeness in its immediacy--in few sittings, the color palette buoyant and assertive, the sitter compliant--with experience in courtroom art. I studied illustration at Parsons School of Design and portraiture at the Art Student's League.
