Artist Statement

The current body of work focuses on how a personal experience of a place or event can be transfigured to communicate the essential elements of painting. I consider a piece to be successful when it goes beyond referencing a biography, and functions autonomously.

I am interested in how a subjective experience can be made cosmic through the act of painting.
