Artist Statement

I live in Red Hook Brooklyn for the past 30 years making drawings, paintings, monotypes and photography. I studied lithography with Garo Antreasian. I work from life, invent images and develop themes that explore powerful ideas garnered from philosophy/religion and physics. For me, the creative process is not a simple linear process but more like a web; or roots; or the Internet, where discovering connections is a journey of tangled threads, interconnections and surprises. Some important influences include Soutine, de Kooning, Picasso, and Bacon with interests in figurative-abstraction, spatial concerns, and esoteric narration. I have published a book of drawings.
