Artist Statement

I work primarily in the mediums of painting, drawing, animation and music to explore my ideas. The act of thinking through a medium is a central concern for me. I am interested in the history of image making and the cultural and temporal specificity in which these images emerged. By referencing the aesthetics of art, politics and religion, my work becomes a vast repository of symbols and signifiers, which I hope can not only breathe new life into old forms, but also analyse and question the ideals, values and power structures of the present time in which we live.
