Artist Statement

I am critically fascinated by the emotional responses to death through the control of film and television. TELEVISION- via Teen TV...a fairly recent modern development where generations of kids are literally growing up with these fictional characters in their homes. FILM- via the studio systems of Old Hollywood and how our emotional responses were hindered or facilitated by that that shift in studio/star/audience control of the public's relationship with a 'star' and their real/semi-fictional/fictional deaths.
