Artist Statement
Jennifer Merdjan employs her worn shoes and recycled objects to create shoe-sculptures and installations. Her work comments on contemporary issues as they relate to the passage of time, and the path one takes with their shoes.
Merdjan exhibits and sells locally/nationally: Museum of Arts & Design; Museum of Chinese in America, Henri Bendel; Argentine Consulate; The Urban Center; Makor Gallery; Lever House (NY); Joyce Robins Gallery (NM). She collaborates with nonprofits to help raise funds with her art. ??
Merdjan teaches/founded the art program at BHSEC Queens, affiliated with Bard College. ??
