Artist Statement

The medium for these sculptures is clay. The works are low and saggar fired. Surfaces of the first four are covered with washes and glazes. Colors of the last two works are the result of a random combination of mineral and organic materials that burn inside the saggar container. The abstract forms of the sculptures appear as organic shapes and as unique, mysterious, ancient archeological artifacts. Each of the works are small in scale, ranging from about four to eight inches. They are intended to stand alone or in random groups.

The Guestbook

jennifer.wingate.33 says: I liked the intimacy of these abstract ceramics. The artist encouraged viewers to pick them up, handle, and listen to them.
