Artist Statement

With my work I aim to articulate an ideal. The ideal I am after is not simply an experience or idea converted to images. Rather, it is the sum of the processes of collecting and using materials that are discarded in my environment, exercising restraint, exercising mistakes, and reassigning elements from older works to newer works to distance my intention another degree. These processes create the potential to yield a thing that feels less controlled and more collaborative, less identifiable and more explorable.

Only a composite (a lifetime of work) through disparate methods could adequately approximate the ideal.
