Artist Statement

Brooklyn based artist Rheanna Abbott and Mariano Henestrosa make up The Old House, a studio located in Crown Heights. Their art making practices operate with and within the mass quantity of images that make up our modern cultural image bank (both printed and virtual). They work with several media (collage, printmaking, embossing, painting...) with which they address the purpose, existence, and cultural weight of images and how to dismantle, recycle and reconfigure them to generate art objects.
